Even on this first page you can see the gorgeous colour-work of Oscar Cavazos and D'jeevan. The cool blues which are the dominant tones of these shots of the interior of Ephemer's ship provide a quiet contrast to the vibrant oranges which characterise the later part of the story.

For my part ... well, fortunately, as with the work I did for Rob Jones on Perfect Storm, there is a limit to how much you can change someone else's story if the artwork is already complete!

I did, however, introduce three elements to the script on this first page. Firstly, I decided to give the android a name (QN). I hoped that might help readers to identify with him a little more directly. Secondly, I introduced a new character - the never seen Stella, the ship's navigation computer. And lastly, I created the nihilium mines as the source of Ephemer's wealth.

The reasons for wanting to make these last two changes will become clearer later.
