This is the Shaman's "Drawing Room", so called not because one withdraws into it after dinner but because it draws would-be attackers to it like flies.
It's not explained explicitly here but my design of the Shaman's house (or "temple") envisaged various security measures around the house with this one tower at one end with high and therefore unguarded windows. Anyone planning an assault on the building would clearly see this as the obvious point to attempt an entry. Having lured them to this room, the Shaman and his disciples could then meet their attack without fear of damage to any of the precious items kept in other rooms.
I did draw up a rough floor plan of this wing of the Shaman's temple. The ring of stones on Page 1 is the "Temple Room"; the room into which Starflower first leads Stan and Sunil is the adjoining "Trophy Room"; and this, of course, is the "Drawing Room". There are other wings but they neeed not concern us for now!
