When I first decided to write a fantasy story, I not only determined to avoid certain staples of the genre, I also made a very conscious decision about which features I wanted to keep.

The main element I decided to retain was the idea of having a group of disparate characters pursuing a "quest" of some description. In Issue 1, you met the first two members of this group - the Lady Jeste and the good Captain Boone.

Without giving away too much of the plot in advance, I think it's safe to tell you that - as well as widening the world of the Spires - Issue 2 will also introduce another member of that group.
